You can add website analytics to your Knowledge Commons site using the Beehive Analytics plugin. Google Analytics allows you to track how visitors use your site, which pages receive the most traffic, and how people find your content.
This guide walks you through setting up a Google Analytics account and connecting it to your WordPress dashboard via Beehive.
1. Create a Google Analytics Account
Before you can activate analytics on your site, you’ll need a free Google Analytics account.
- Visit analytics.google.com.
- Sign in with your Google account.
- Create a new Analytics property for your Knowledge Commons site.
- Copy the tracking code provided during setup—you’ll paste it into Beehive later.
2. Open the Beehive Analytics Plugin
Once your Google Analytics account is ready, connect it to your site.
- Log in to your site’s WordPress dashboard.
- In the left-hand menu, click Beehive.

3. Sign In With Your Google Account
Beehive will prompt you to connect your Google account so it can display your analytics data inside WordPress.
- Sign in with the same Google account used to set up your Analytics property.
- Important: Make sure the last checkbox in the Google sign-in window is checked. This allows Beehive to access and display data in your dashboard.
- The screen may say “Beehive Pro,” but you are connecting to the free version provided on Commons.
4. Add Your Tracking Code
After signing in, Beehive will prompt you to enter your Google Analytics tracking code.
- Paste the code you copied from Google Analytics into the Beehive setup screen.
- Save your settings.
