Have you uploaded a Work to Knowledge Commons in the past that you’d like to add more details, edit the metadata, or add a newer version? This guide will show you how to make changes to an existing record in the repository.
To view all of your deposits in Works, you can either go to your Knowledge Commons profile or by selecting “My Dashboard” in KCWorks. “My Dashboard” is the icon of a human in the corner of the page.
On the dashboard, you can view all of your uploaded Works, search the Works and Collections you’ve created, and view Requests from other users to view your uploads.
To edit one of your Works, select the “Edit” button next to the item’s record.
You will be taken to a page that looks exactly like the Upload Form, but this one will state “Updating Published Work” at the top. Use the navigation bar at the top to make changes to any of the categories you’d like, including the contributors, collections, and access.
Once you’ve made all your changes, select “Save and Publish” from the navigation bar. If you would not like to save the changes you made, use the “Discard Changes” button. To publish the updated Work, select “Publish.” You will receive a message warning you that, once a deposit is published, you cannot make changes to the uploaded file (you can always add another version or change the metadata).
